This is a series of sketches I did this afternoon of someone carrying a heavy pail of something from the barn. I've been meaning to add this figure to a painting I had done a while back at a nearby orchard.

During one of the painting sessions this is what I saw happen but wasn't in a position to get it in quickly. So, I put some thinking into possible attitudes for a body to assume in carrying a load with one hand.

A model would serve me better. I suppose the last figure on the right is simply a doodle.
